This programme converts Yahoo E-Mail game scores into PGN format.
This programme is freeware. You may distribute this as you like. I only ask that you do not charge for this package.

I make no warranties about this programme at all. I include it under the assumption that it will be used to convert Yahoo E-mail game scores into PGN format only.

Usage: Save your Yahoo Chess E-mails to a known folder. Copy ChessConverter.exe into the same directory. Double click on chessconverter. Type in the name of the E-mails you want to convert. (including extension for example: Mygame.eml) You may save the e-mail as either txt or eml format. Hit enter after each file. Enter filename "done" when you are finished. Type in the name of the PGN file with extension. (Example myGames.pgn) Hit enter. You may now view the score in any chess programme.

Removal: Delete ChessConverter.exe. This file does not install anything to your registry. This file does not have any spyware.

Advanced usage. From a command prompt you may use various switches. They are:

-a Append mode.
-? Lists various switches
-h See -?
-v Version

Bugs and Issues:

Yahoo Games Chess E-Mail format is not complete because of this, this programme makes the following assumptions

That the game is won not drawn. The programme can identify the winner 100% of the time. The programme can not determine if the opponent resigned or lost on time. The programme will detect games ending in Mate.
That every pawn promotion is to a Queen. Games where the opponent under promotes my generate errors when viewed with a chess programme.

Future versions should be able to detect draw by stalemate, three fold repetition, and book draws.
